Spotted by Lou Reed and Peter Gabriel in 1996, Joseph Arthur now has around fifteen albums to his credit. He’s also at the origin of several bands: The Lonely Astronauts, Fistful Mercy (which he founded with Ben Harper) or even RNDM with Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam. Joseph Arthur on stage could be described as a fallen or cursed angel, who with his guitar, pedals and mics, builds live real swirling and captivating melodies which gives stripped-down pieces, without artifice, inhabited solely by the singer's voice. Joseph Arthur draws his inspiration from Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Jeff Buckley. The finesse of the compositions and the richness of the orchestrations make Joseph Arthur one of the best American songwriters of the 21st century. His song "In the Sun" was covered by singer Michael Stipe of R.E.M and Chris Martin of Coldplay, as well as by Peter Gabriel.

First impressions last a lifetime. Wolfgang Van Halen has prepared a lifetime to make his first impression with his solo band Mammoth. The songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist worked tirelessly on material that would become his debut album. Playing every instrument and singing each and every note, his music presents a personal and powerful perspective, balancing memorable hooks and tight technicality. As many times as audiences have experienced his talent alongside the likes of Tremonti, Clint Lowery, and of course, Van Halen, Wolfgang prepares to step into the spotlight with his own brand - Mammoth - for the very first time now.
“The name Mammoth is really special to me.” says Wolf. “Not only was it the name of Van Halen before it became Van Halen, but my father was also the lead singer. Ever since my dad told me this, I always thought that when I grew up, I’d call my own band Mammoth, because I loved the name so much. I’m so thankful that my father was able to listen to, and enjoy the music I made. Nothing made me happier than seeing how proud he was that I was continuing the family legacy.”

Riding the fine line between obnoxious skatepunk and soddenmetal, Murphy's Law came out of New York City's mid-'80shardcore scene and formed in Astoria, Queens, around vocalist Jimmy G. The group's self-titled debut, released on Profile in 1986, contained the usual '80s subjects (boredom, alienation, weed, beer, etc.), but the songs were definitely there, and Murphy's Law improved even more with their second album,1989's Back with a Bong! The band was on the Profile-associated Combat Records for 1991's The Best of Times, but recorded little duringthe early '90s. In 1995, Murphy's Law came back with the EP Good for Now, and the full-length Dedicated arrived the following year. Best of Times / Good for Now was issued in 2000; The Party'sOver came next in the spring of 2001.
Thirty years ago in Pomona Valley, California, was the birth of Total Chaos. Created outof the desperate needto savea dying genre of punk rock, during a time that the market was saturated with a more commercial newstyle. It was more important than ever to express their social and political views. The idea of social responsibility was a significant thing, from organizing peace punk picnics, to protesting against the gulf war, their music hada meaning and stood for something. Over the years, the band has seen many things come and go, but they have stuck to their original ideals. Whether you are pop punk, street punk, hardcore punk, straight edge, political punk, goth punk, skate punk, crust punk, metal punk, or whatever box they try to put you in, Total Chaos unites you all into one scene: PUNK ROCK!
South Jersey skate punk legends, Gutter Drunk, bring their incredible live show to Anchor Rock Club! Not to be missed!

with you in spirit, the fourth Balance and Composure LP, is an arresting, atmospheric collection of melodic post-punk and towering rock. Due out October 4 on long-time collaborator and Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip’s Memory Music, it’s the band’s first LP in eight years, and a thrilling full-length comeback after their four-year hiatus. It thunders and stirs, dipping between beautiful, crystalline arrangements and punishing, earth-shaking climaxes; in between all, a gripping, near-physical tension crackles and growls and grooves, waiting to rip open.
It’s an intensely self-reflective record for vocalist and guitarist Jon Simmons, an uprooting and examination of the supports on which a life is built. Preemptive grief, wrestling with god and faith, familial responsibility, familial mortality—these are the things Simmons was carrying while writing this material. They’re also things he was trying, for better and worse, to avoid—hence the record’s title.
with you in spirit feels like the work of songwriters reaching new heights, exploring new depths. Sometimes, the record itself feels like a band grappling with its own avoidance, its own mortality, and deciding to face these things the only way they know how. Balance and Composure are with us in spirit, yes, but in the flesh, too, for now.
Sainthood Reps have been known for their unique blend of grunge and post-hardcore for many years. After releasing Monoculture in 2011 and Headswell in 2013, the band spent the next several years collectively pursuing other projects before eventually regrouping during COVID. Since 2022, the band has been in and out of the studio, compiling new music that marks a definitive step forward in their evolution. Stay tuned in 2025 for much more from the Reps.
